The Fourth “Zhongkun International Poetry Award” Ceremony was Held in Beijing

   On November 25, 2013, the Fourth “Zhongkun International Poetry Award” ceremony was held in Centennial Memorial Hall of Beijing University. Famous poet-Ya Xuan from Taiwan and famous Polish poet Adam Zagajewski were both awarded the “Zhongkun International Poetry Award”.
   At the ceremony, over 200 poets and poetry critics gathered at poetry feast, poet Ya Xuan in his octogenarian attended the ceremony to receive the award, and cultural counselor of Embassy of Poland took the award on behalf of poet Adam Zagajewski.

 

Background :
  
Zhongkun Poetry Development Fund was established by Beijing Zhongkun Investment Group on February, 2006 aiming to promote the poetic creation, research, and communication to be active and prosperous, as well as support the development of Chinese poetry.
 
   “Zhongkun International Poetry Award”, a kind of two-year international poetry award sponsored by Zhongkun Poetry Development Fund, now is the most influential folk poetry award globally oriented with the highest bonus in China as well as is hosted by Beijing University China Poetry Academy with financial aid of Zhongkun Poetry Development Fund.

   Each ceremony, the organizer of Zhongkun International Poetry Award will organize the judging panel consisted of professionals who exert an extensive and far-reaching influence so as to select prizewinners through strict procedures. In 2007, the prize-winners of the first ceremony were Zhai Yong-Ming, Yves Bonnefoy, Gu Bin and Lv Yuan; In 2009, the price winners of second ceremony are Bei Dao, Adonis and Zhao Zhenjiang. In 2011, the prize winners of the third ceremony are Niu Han and Shuntaro Tanikawa.
