Chairman Huang Nubo was invited to Attend the “The Paulson Prize for Cities of the Future” Ceremony

On November 7, 2013, “The Paulson Prize for Cities of the Future” ceremony, cosponsored by U.S. Paulsen Foundation and China Center for International Economic Exchanges, was held at Park Hyatt Beijing Hotel, and chairman Huang Nubo, as a member of awards committee, attended the awards ceremony.
The annual award will be given to the Chinese urban sustainable development planned project in recognition of its effectiveness and innovation of various solutions as well as its positive role in promoting the steady development of ecology. At the ceremony, Paulsen Foundation together with China Center for International Economic Exchanges awarded “The Paulson Prize for Cities of the Future” to Zhejiang Jiaxing South Lake new countryside project.
Former U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson said, urbanization had become one of the most important developments in China both economically and environmentally on the basis of long-term development, and environmental issues should be focused instead of merely concerning economic growth. He said, “Challenges surrounding China are to re-create a model. It was very hard to find another sample similar with China in the world due to its distinctive scale and complexity.”
Chairman Huang Nubo, as a member of awards committee, deemed that urbanization would be the major opportunity over the next 30 years. As far as he was concerned, Chinese urbanization should develop towards humanization, localization and livability. Because he just finished the investigation to the German, chairman Huang found urbanized developing level in German was not balanced showing regional variations which was different from his views in the past. He said, “It also meant China”s urbanization development faced a big challenge and took up to 30 years to reach the current level of German.
